Jenny grew up in Ft. Myers, Florida and developed an interest in beauty ever since she was a little girl. From an early age, she would always do her friend’s hair and nails because she loved the satisfaction of helping others feel beautiful and more confident. Because of her skills with hair and nails, Jenny landed a job as a manager at a local salon in Fort Myers.

Shortly after, Jenny relocated to Memphis with her two children in pursuit of a new life. Despite being a single mother, she completed her licensure at Paul Mitchell the School Memphis. This license certified her in doing hair, skin, and nails. Her career in the beauty industry started with hair services. Four years ago, her passion shifted to waxing, and began working full-time for European Wax Center (EWC) where she acquired her speed and perfected the technique.

After the birth of her 3rd child last year, Jenny’s hours at the solon were cut so she made the decision to branch off and open her own business. Jenny was familiar with hard wax from her time at EWC but wanted a wax that was more sensitive on the skin. She wanted a premium quality wax that would be comfortable and virtually painless for her clients.

Jenny researched various waxes in hopes to find the perfect one for Waxology. After trying Starpil’s Pink film wax, Jenny fell in love and knew this was the wax she wanted to use for her new business. She loves that the wax does not leave skin irritated, no cleanup strips are needed, and removes even the finest of hairs. Pink film also allows Jenny to showcase her speed waxing artistry as she can apply multiple strips simultaneously without it breaking. This is because Starpil film waxes are made with polymer that provides extra flexibility and a longer setting time when waxing. Jenny uses between 30-35 pounds of Pink film every week.

The support of the city has made all the difference in helping Jenny’s business prosper! Her business is very much client driven and without their loyalty and her consistent results, business wouldn’t be as successful as it has been its first year! Jenny loves people and believes that waxing is a platform that she can use to meet new people and make a difference in someone. She now sees around 30 people a day for her services!

In just a span of a year, Waxology has reached immense levels of success! Hard work and determination have been key to getting the business to where it is today. Having to build new clientele from scratch for her business was very difficult but Jenny would hand out business cards everywhere she went.

Jenny also began posting pictures and videos on social media platforms to market her business. One of her videos on Facebook received over 2 million views! This past July, Jenny launched her own aftercare line for waxing (Waxology). It now also ships overseas to other countries with its sales.
