Starsoft is the wax pros reach for when client comfort is the whole point. The neurosensory formula features 4-T-Butylcyclohexanol, a cosmetic ingredient documented in skincare research for its skin-soothing properties. Combined with tamanu oil and Vitamin E, the wax leaves skin feeling calm and cared for during the service — not just at the end of it.

The texture is the second reason pros switch. Starsoft melts to a buttery, Manuka-honey consistency that spreads thin and pulls clean. The low 55–60°C working temperature — the lowest in our line — means less heat on the skin, less reactivity, and a calmer experience from the first strip to the last.

It grips fine, medium, and coarse hair equally. Works face to Brazilian. Hypoallergenic and free from perfumes, coloring agents, preservatives, and pine rosins — so even your most reactive clients can sit through a full service.

Starsoft is best if:

  • Your clients have hypersensitive, dry, or mature skin
  • You're building a "comfort-first" reputation in your salon or studio
  • You do Brazilians, faces, or full-body services
  • You want one wax that works on everything from delicate to coarse

Hard Wax Beads (Hypoallergenic)
Best for
Hypersensitive, dry, mature skin

Starsoft is built on what we call our Neurosensory Formula — a combination of three actives working at the skin level during application:

  • 4-T-Butylcyclohexanol is a cosmetic active recognized in dermatological research as a skin-soothing agent that reduces sensations of skin discomfort. It's why clients consistently describe Starsoft as the most comfortable hard wax they've experienced.
  • Tamanu oil (Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil) is a botanical extract long used in skincare for its skin-conditioning properties, helping skin feel calm and nourished during the service.
  • Vitamin E (Tocopherol) is an antioxidant that helps protect the skin and leaves it feeling soft and conditioned after every pull.

The wax itself uses Starpil's pioneering Microbead Technology — small uniform beads that melt fast and evenly, eliminating cold spots that cause uneven application. Working temperature sits at 55–60°C — the lowest in our line and significantly cooler than most hard waxes (which run 70–80°C). That 15–25° gap is why Starsoft is the formula of choice for hypersensitive, dry, and mature skin types.

The result: a wax that performs as a comfort-first service experience as much as a hair removal one — and a clinical reason to charge more per visit.

  • Neurosensory formula with 4-T-Butylcyclohexanol — a documented skin-soothing active
  • Tamanu oil + Vitamin E — leaves skin feeling calm and conditioned during the service
  • Low 55–60°C working temperature (lowest in our line) — gentler on hypersensitive and mature skin
  • Buttery, Manuka-honey meltdown — clean spread, clean pull, every time
  • Hypoallergenic and rosin-free — no perfumes, dyes, or preservatives
  • Pioneering Microbead Technology — fast, even meltdown with no cold spots

Hypoallergenic. Cruelty-free. No pine rosins, perfumes, coloring agents, or preservatives. Made in Spain.

Hydrogenated Polycyclopentadiene, Beeswax (Cera Alba), Cera Microcristallina (Microcrystalline Wax), Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil (Tamanu), 4-T-Butylcyclohexanol, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Pentylene Glycol.

HOW TO USE

Follow these simple steps to prep, apply, and remove your wax for smooth, long-lasting results every time.

Fill up your warmer halfway and let your wax melt completely. Continue to add wax and consistently stir until the proper consistency is reached. Set your warmer to the formula’s suggested working temperature. Recommended Wax Temp: 60–65°C |

You’re looking for a honey-like texture, if you notice it’s runny or stringy, the wax is too hot.

Prep Your Skin

Prep your skin. The pre-wax gel will clean the skin, as well as hydrate it. Once applied, remove any excess product with a clean, dry cotton round. Powder is not used in the Starpil method.

Application

Spread the wax evenly in the direction of hair growth, pressing firmly so it fully adheres. At the end of your strip, leave a slightly thicker edge — like a small lip or tab — that you can easily grab onto for removal.

Removal

Once the wax has set, hold the skin taut and use the lip/tab to lift the edge. Pull the strip back quickly and firmly, keeping it close and parallel to the skin (not upward) for the smoothest results.

Post Wax Care

Apply Starpil's post-wax lotion followed by our post-wax oil. The lotion will hydrate and calm the skin, while the oil locks in that moisturizer and removes any wax residue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Two reasons. First, the 4-T-Butylcyclohexanol in the formula is recognized in cosmetic research as a skin-soothing active that reduces sensations of skin discomfort. Second, Starsoft's 55–60°C working temperature is the lowest in our line — significantly cooler than standard hard waxes that work at 70–80°C. Less heat + a soothing active = the calmest waxing experience in our catalog.

Starsoft = comfort-first formula with the neurosensory actives (Butylcyclohexanol, tamanu oil, Vitamin E) that leave skin feeling calm during the service. The all-arounder for hypersensitive clients.
Coral = sensitive-skin specialist with Mediterranean coral calcium that calms post-wax redness.
Starsoft works on the experience. Coral works on the recovery. Many pros carry both.

For most pros, yes. Starsoft grips everything from fine facial hair to coarse Brazilian hair, which is why a lot of solo estheticians use it as their only formula. Larger studios with specialized service menus still benefit from carrying two or three waxes, but a single-formula Starsoft setup is a real and proven option.

Melt on max until fully liquid (60–70°C), then drop your warmer to 55–60°C for application — that's lower than any other wax in our line. The wax should look like thick honey when it's ready (the "Manuka honey" consistency is your signal). If it strings or runs off the spatula on your test strip, it's still too hot. Let it cool 30 seconds and try again.
