Coral is the wax we recommend most for sensitive skin and people learning hard wax. The Mediterranean coral calcium calms post-wax redness, so your client walks out glowing instead of flushed. The slower set time gives you a few extra seconds to apply and pull cleanly — which is exactly where most beginners struggle. And the low working temperature means less heat on the skin and less "ouch" from the client.

It grips fine and coarse hair equally. Works face to bikini. Forgives mistakes.

Coral is best if:

  • Your skin or your client's skin gets red easily
  • You're learning hard wax for the first time
  • You wax bikini, underarms, or face
  • You want shimmery, calmer skin after the service

Coral is formulated with ethically-sourced Mediterranean coral calcium powder, a natural mineral that reduces inflammation and supports faster skin recovery post-wax. Combined with our crystalline Microbead Technology — a Starpil pioneer — the wax melts evenly, sets slowly, and lifts hair cleanly from the root without dragging surrounding skin.

The low 60–65°C working temperature is what separates Coral from most hard waxes, which work at 70–80°C. That 10–15° difference is the reason clients describe Coral as "the gentler one" — and the reason newer pros find it easier to control than faster-setting formulas.

The result: a hard wax that works as a calming skincare treatment as much as a hair removal tool.

  • Real Mediterranean coral calcium — actively calms post-wax redness
  • Slower set time — fewer mistakes, ideal for newer pros
  • Low 60–65°C working temp — gentler on the most reactive skin
  • Grips fine and coarse hair equally — works face to bikini
  • Leaves skin glowing, not red — better client rebook rate
  • Pioneering Microbead Technology — faster, more even meltdown

HOW TO USE

Follow these simple steps to prep, apply, and remove your wax for smooth, long-lasting results every time.

Start Strong

Fill up your warmer halfway and let your wax melt completely. Continue to add wax and consistently stir until the proper consistency is reached. Set your warmer to the formula’s suggested working temperature. Recommended Wax Temp: 60–65°C |

You’re looking for a honey-like texture, if you notice it’s runny or stringy, the wax is too hot.

Prep Your Skin

Prep your skin. The pre-wax gel will clean the skin, as well as hydrate it. Once applied, remove any excess product with a clean, dry cotton round. Powder is not used in the Starpil method.

Application

Spread the wax evenly in the direction of hair growth, pressing firmly so it fully adheres. At the end of your strip, leave a slightly thicker edge — like a small lip or tab — that you can easily grab onto for removal.

Removal

Once the wax has set, hold the skin taut and use the lip/tab to lift the edge. Pull the strip back quickly and firmly, keeping it close and parallel to the skin (not upward) for the smoothest results.

Post Wax Care

Apply Starpil's post-wax lotion followed by our post-wax oil. The lotion will hydrate and calm the skin, while the oil locks in that moisturizer and removes any wax residue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Coral sets more slowly than most hard waxes, which gives beginners more time to apply and remove it cleanly. We recommend starting with the 1lb sample size while you're learning. Most people graduate to 2.2lb after their first try.

Coral is made for sensitive skin. The Mediterranean coral calcium calms redness and reduces swelling. We also use a low working temperature (60–65°C), so it's gentler than most hard waxes. People with mature, hypersensitive, or easily-irritated skin tend to prefer Coral over our other formulas.

Melt on max until fully liquid, then lower to 60–65°C for application. The wax should look like thick honey when it's ready. If it looks runny or stringy on a test strip, it's too hot — let it cool 30 seconds and try again.

Three things:

  • Gentler on skin — coral calcium calms post-wax redness
  • More forgiving — slower set time means fewer mistakes
  • Works on every hair type — fine, coarse, or in-between

If you're choosing between Starpil waxes, Coral is the best for sensitive skin and beginners.
