How to Use Hard Wax Warmers

Here are the basic steps in using Starpil’s hard wax warmers and pots: 

• Plugin and turn on your Starpil Hard Wax Warmer.
• Place wax beads or tablets into your wax warmer, then put on the lid.
• Set the temperature of the warmer to 90°C until wax is fully melted. Stir occasionally.
• Lower the temperature to 75°C and let wax cool.
• Once the green indicator light is off, the warmer has stabilized, and the wax should have a thick, honey-like texture.
• Mix wax and test strip on your wrist before commencing service on the client.
• Prep client's skin using Starpil Pre-Wax Care Gel. Let the area dry completely.
• Apply wax and let the wax cool for a couple of seconds, or until the strip is semi-hardened.
• Hold the skin taut, and peel it off firmly by pulling it back in the opposite direction of application.
• Finish by applying Starpil Post-Wax Care Lotion on your client for optimum results.
• Turn off your wax warmer and tidy up your station.

How to Use Starter Warmers

• Plugin your Starter Wax Warmer.
• Place the wax into your warmer.
• Turn on by moving the adjustable heat dial to the left.
• The red indicator light will turn on when your warmer is heating up and off once it's reached the selected temperature.
• Set wax warmer to ~ 4 with a full can until wax is fully melted. Stir occasionally.
• Lower the heat to ~ 3 and let wax cool.
• Once the red indicator light is off, the warmer has stabilized, and the wax should have a thick, honey-like texture.
• If you need to adjust your temperature, do so by going up half intervals (the ticks marked between each number).
• Mix wax and test strip on your wrist before commencing service on the client.
• Prep client's skin using Starpil Pre-Wax Care Gel. Let the area dry completely.
• For film hard wax, apply wax and let the wax cool for a couple of seconds, or until the strip is semi-hardened.
• Hold the skin taut and peel it off firmly by pulling it back in the opposite direction of application.
• For soft strip wax, apply a thin layer over skin with the spatula in the direction of hair growth.
• Place hair removal wax strip on the surface and pull against the direction of hair growth.

Use your favorite degreaser to clean both the inside and outside of your hard wax warmer (you can also use Starpil’s Post Wax-Oil!). Finish by wiping down your warmer with 70% isopropyl alcohol.

How Do You Heat Starpil Wax?

When using Starpil hard wax beads or tablets, only use one of our professional hard wax warmers for the best results and meltdown. Follow the complete instructions that are included with your hard wax warmer regarding how much wax to measure and how to properly heat your quantity of wax. Never microwave or use alternative methods to heat your Starpil wax.

When heating hard wax, you'll want to set the temperature of the warmer to 90 degrees Celsius until wax is fully melted, stirring occasionally. Once wax has melted, lower the temperature to 65-75 degrees Celsius in order to let wax cool.

Remember, the working temperature of Starpil wax depends on your formula, how much wax is in your pot, plus which area you'll be waxing.

To heat your Starpil soft wax, follow the instructions on your can and soft wax warmer to insert your soft wax can directly into your soft wax warmer. Heat your wax to the appropriate temperature specified by your formula’s instructions for the best results.  Never microwave or use alternative methods to heat your soft wax.

Can I Use Soft Wax in a Hard Wax Warmer?

Never use soft wax in a hard wax warmer. Since Starpil soft wax is heated by putting the entire tin into your warmer, putting this wax into the wrong warmer type can result in injury, burns, or the breaking of your hard wax warmer. Only use your hard wax warmer for loose hard wax beads.

In addition to using the correct warmer type for your wax, here are some more basics to follow:

• Starpil wax warmers are designed to be used by professionals. 
• Never immerse your wax warmer or other electrical appliances in water.
• Always unplug your wax warmer from the power supply when not in use, prior to use, when setting down, and before cleaning.
