Waxing For A Cure
The LLS Firefighter Stairclimb is the largest on-air stair climb competition in the world which is hosting its 29th annual fundraiser on Sunday, March 8th, in Seattle, WA. The yearly event raises funds directly benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) which is a global leader in the fight against cancer. In case your unfamiliar, Leukemia is a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow while Lymphoma is the cancer of the Lymphatic system.
The sole purpose of this movement is to raise awareness and get donations that will aid cancer survivors and continue to fund research into finding a cure.
Franco is a fire captain of the Manteca Fire Department in Manteca, California, who will be participating in the grueling course along with 2,000 participants who will climb up the skyscraper in full turnout gear weighing over 60 pounds while on-air!
In an effort to raise funds for LLS, Franco set a goal of $5,000 which currently 34% of it has been donated. When he reaches $2,500 he has committed to getting his body waxed and shave his head! We are rooting for Franco to accomplish his goal and we need your support to raise funds for a cause dedicated to lifesaving research.
Who’s Doing The Waxing?
Skintastic owner and wax specialist, Brenda North-Hogsett, is up for the challenge! Brenda has been a loyal Starpil user for over 6 years and we are pleased to support Waxing for A Cure along her side. Brenda’s favorite Starpil wax formula is the Pink Film because of its flexibility and ability to be used as very thin strips. She uses the Pink Film wax for facials as it is ideal for smaller areas. It is a creamy polymer-blend formula made for low-temperature waxing. Brenda also loves using the Blue Film wax and the new Starsoft wax. She uses the Blue Film wax for larger areas such as arms, legs, Brazilian bikini, and other areas with thick and coarse hairs. She uses our Starsoft wax for clients with hypersensitive skin as it is our most gentle formula.
